A new dive platform was installed late last year at the Wellington Waterfront and is already a huge success! At an opening attended by none other than Prince Charles (on his birthday!) a brave few christened the structure with some ‘sweet bombs’ into the brisk November-water. Charles had reportedly forgotten his togs.
The WA-designed and Dunning-Thornton-engineered tube steel structure comprises two jumping platforms at heights of 4.5 and 7.5 metres above MSL. It’s a simple addition with a bold impact and more and more people are giving it a go amongst the big summer crowds. Congratulations to Wellington Waterfront for initiating the project.
