Auckland’s North Wharf, Jellicoe Street and Silo Park received the Rosa Barba Landscape Prize at the 8th International Biennial of Landscape Architecture, the first time the awards went global. The project was up against some pretty outstanding competition – pictured here – including New York’s High Line.

The jury’s citation – refreshingly written in verse – noted their desire to send a message that landscape architecture was a strategic discipline, “strong and robust, but at the same time humble and sensitive”, which we feel was a pretty apt endorsement of the thriving waterfront.
