Wraight and Associates were recently invited to share their thoughts and expertise on waterfront design by CityGreen, a biennial publication that focuses on sustainable city development, published by Singapore’s Centre for Urban Greenery & Ecology. The article ‘Water Fronting: Principles of Design based in Aotearoa New Zealand’ features in CityGreen issue 5 – ‘Water and the City’, along with diverse articles from a range of authors including Christophe Girot and Tobias Baur.

The article introduces the New Zealand waterfront context before elaborating on three key design aspects considered essential in WA’s experience of waterfront design. These are discussed via three case study projects completed by WA and collaborators: Wellington’s Taranaki Wharf and Waitangi Park and the first, catalytic projects of Auckland’s Wynyard Quarter.
