Awful puns aside, it’s been an outstanding month for the Wynyard Quarter.

North Wharf, Jellicoe Street and Silo Park received top honours at the Excellence on the Waterfront Awards in Washington DC and, shortly after, the projects were presented by Megan Wraight, along with Scott Adams from TCL, as finalists at the World Architecture Festival (WAF) in Singapore.

At the IES Lighting awards, lighting designers eCubed, picked up the Excellence Award in the Night Sky category, as well as a Commendation in Lighting Design, for their outstanding contribution to the projects’ success.

More recently, North Wharf, Jellicoe St and Silo Park won the World Architecture News (WAN) Urban Design Awards 2012! The projects triumphed from amongst several exceptional entries from across the globe.

And… just last night, the Wynyard Quarter – in its entirety – took the top award at the inaugural New Zealand Urban Design Awards! Waterfront Auckland, and a collection of key consultants, were on hand to receive the honour at what promises to be a great new interdisciplinary event.

It’s fantastic to see the Wynyard projects and team honoured internationally, as well as locally, and across a range of disciplines. A huge congratulations to all involved in creating this celebrated part of Auckland city.
